It's evident that gender inequality heavily exists in the music industry. The Founders of the Women's Music Network, Marissa ... Corlett and Madison Kiper, are women who aspire to work in the music industry after graduation. Currently, they are seniors in the Bandier Program for the Music and Entertainment Industries at Syracuse University. They realized that there are many women at Syracuse University interested in working in the music industry. However, they have no real thread connecting them to one other. Therefore, they decided to create the Women's Music Network for their final capstone project to change that. The mission of the Women's Music Network is to connect, prepare, and empower female college students that aspire to work in the music industry, specifically those at Syracuse University. While the organization was started at one campus, the hope is that it has a long-lasting impact and spreads to universities around the world. read more
