Each year, we compete at the Canadian National Concrete Canoe Competition (CNCCC) against schools from across Canada. There are various specialized teams within the group focused on the following tasks: - Design and Analysis: Using CAD software to design the canoe shape and test various cross-sections - Mould and Construction: Creating a mould and optimizing the curing and casting process of the concrete canoe - Concrete: Developing an optimal concrete mix that meets competition criteria - Theme: Making an informative and creative display to showcase development of the concrete canoe - Academics: Documenting design and construction process and creating a technical design report and presentation - Paddling: Training specifically to race the concrete canoe At the 2018 competition, we placed in the top 10, winning the Most Original Theme and 4th place in Presentation.
