John F. & John P. Wenzel Contractors, Inc., was established just after World War II and began as a father son operation engag ... ed in residential concrete and blacktop construction. In 1959, they incorporated and in 1969 moved to their original Elmira Heights location. After the flood of 1972 the business grew into one of the major commercial heavy highway contractors in Elmira/Corning area employing as many as 100 employees. Currently the corporation is a union contractor employing approximately 60 seasonal workers. It is now owned by Mark C. Squires, President; and David W. Squires, Vice President.
