In addition to their academic credentials, many of the department's faculty members bring years of extensive professional experience to the classroom. Each year, approximately 75 to 85 students earn their degree in communication in one of four concentrations--broadcasting, health communication, journalism and public relations. Currently, almost 200 students major in communication. Our facilities are equipped with the latest technology in order to provide students with marketable skills. In addition to a solid academic background, each student will participate in service or experiential learning in the region. Communication majors are required to do a professional internship. Western grads enter the most sought-after fields, often in major markets, thanks to their internship experiences. read more
