Waterdance is a leading UK South West fishing company. Established in 1956 the company is one of the Greendale group of famil ... y businesses. Waterdance core business is in the fish catching sector; the company owns and directly operates 23 fishing vessels from two core ports; Brixham and Newlyn. Waterdance also owns significant UK fish quota which its own boats utilise and which is also traded domestically and internationally. The Waterdance fleet comprises Beam Trawlers, Netters, Potters and Scallopers. The beam trawler fleet is homeported to Brixham in Devon, the netters to Newlyn in Cornwall. The potters operate from Exmouth and Salcombe respectively. The waters of the western channel provide clean deep waters and strong currents which provide the perfect environment for world class seafood. Sustainable fishing methods ensure that these stocks remain intact. Major specifies of fish caught include; Sole, Plaice, Hake, Cuttlefish and Pollack. The potters harvest Whelks, Crab and Lobsters. The majority of this fish is sold through local fish markets but the Waterdance fleet also supplies the group farm shop, the Greendale Farm shop (near Exeter) and utilises the Greendale haulage fleet to supply fish to Europe on a regular basis. Waterdance fishing vessels are all flagged to the UK ; where the maritime safety standards are some of the highest in the world. In addition to the existing fleet, Waterdance has two exciting new builds under construction; a 35 metre Beam trawler – GEORGINA OF LADRAM, and a 15 metre Potter – NICHOLA OF LADRAM. Waterdance has over 120 ocean going personnel and a shore network of staff and wider employment footprint that lands, processes, distributes and sells seafood, supporting a strong South West local economy. The company has a strategy of investing locally, continually modernising the fleet, improving fish quality, and striving to get the best fish to customers. read more
