The VIPS program seeks first-rate volunteers to take on tasks in partnership with the men and women of the Denver Police Depa ... rtment serving the citizens of the Denver Metropolitan area. We seek to provide volunteers with rewarding and challenging positions, which enhances the capacity of the Police Department to make Denver a better and safer city. In 2016, 251 volunteers gave 26,272 hours to the Denver Police Department. The value of these hours equals $618,968 in savings for the City and County of Denver. Since the beginning of the VIPS Program in 2004, volunteers have given 421,106 hours, totaling a savings of more than $9.9 million.
