VIAS CANADA is a VIAS Y CONSTRUCCIONES subsidiary in Canada. It was incorporated on the 28 July 2011. VIAS is born on the 14 ... January 1928 as a company exclusively devoted to the railway industry, one of the first in Spain. It is now a company within the ACS Group and is one of the leading construction companies in Spain by turnover and profitability. Within the Service Industry, the VIAS Group executes important contracts in the fields of installation, corporate image and transportation. In July 2011, VIAS, in association with Dragados and Flatiron, was contracted as a qualified, experienced and innovative railway contractor for Phase I of the Mary River Project, in Baffin (Nunavut). The Project consisted of the development of the concept, preliminary design, construction design, planning and cost estimate of a 150 km railway line between the mine and the port. In August 2012, VIAS was pre-qualified by Metrolinx as railway contractor for Major Projects in the Metrolinx public domain. A year later, in 2013, this qualification was extended for minor and intermediate projects.
