Founded in 2018, the UTS Education Society (EdSoc) is a student run organisation which aims to connect students socially and ... provide opportunities and guidance to these students as they move forward into their education career. The UTS Education Society (EdSoc) welcomes not only students and faculty within the education faculty, but from all disciplines, as well as alumni and those outside of the UTS community. The society values respect, inclusivity and teamwork. Through the efforts of not only its executive members but all members, the UTS Education Society can flourish and become one of the leading societies at the University of Technology Sydney. The society targets the six key graduate attributes embedded within FASS courses; professional readiness, critical and creative inquiry, international and intercultural engagement, indigenous competencies, active citizenship and effective communication. EdSoc provides events that cater to it’s members’ needs. These events will range from casual to formal, delivering people a range of social activities which they can come and be apart of. Members, and non-members will be able to enjoy environments where they can relax, meet new people and have a great time. The inclusion of faculty, alumni and the outside community into our events will generate networking and provide opportunities for students to meet and gain advice from those experienced in the education and wider community. EdSoc’s ambition is to start alumni talks and sponsored networking events to create a better foundation for our members searching for jobs and graduate positions and to offer assistance to all its student members with a wide range of subjects through aspects of peer mentoring.
