FORMS, short for Financial Optimization and Risk Management Society, is a young student organization founded in 2011 summer t ... hat aims to help students achieve a better overall understanding of finance and its applications. Our goal is to create a communicational platform for individuals with various academic and professional backgrounds as well as students who are at different stages of their curriculum. We also aim to provide UT students with research opportunities, skill trainings and networking opportunities regarding financial professions. Currently, we have 5 departments running 4 core event series every year (shown as below).  FORMS Academy is a serial event whose sole goal is to educate students with finance related knowledge.  FORMS Fund, a student run fund started in 2014. Provides finance education to students who are interested in investment. Combines online simulation and real life trading together with systematic trainings including macroeconomics, company valuation, trading strategy & risk management. Analysts participate in trainings, generate & propose investment idea, write analyst report, and execute investment strategy.  Investment competition is a 3 month stock market simulation contest which provides real investment experience for students with passion in investment.  Texas Hold’em Tournament. read more
