UNSW Cheer and Dance Society consists of competitive cheerleading and dance teams representing the University of New South Wa ... les, Sydney, Australia. We compete regularly throughout the year locally, as well as at a state and national level. All of our teams compete in around 5 competitions throughout the year, representing UNSW at state and national levels. We also run a multitude of social events throughout the year to allow members to form long-lasting connections! Our society welcomes everyone from those who wish to represent UNSW and perform, to those who just want to have fun, make new friends and learn some exciting new skills. CHEER: The UNSW Cheer and Dance Society offers level ½ and level ¾ in cheerleading proving a great opportunity for either a beginner, intermediate or advanced level cheerleader. DANCE: The UNSW Cheer and Dance Society offers competition based classes of Jazz, Contemporary, Hip-hop and Pom as well as a social class and a novice team. We run both premiere (UNSW Students only) and open (everyone welcome) teams in each style. In January 2013 our Dance team had the honour of representing UNSW and Australia at the World University Cheerleading Championships in Orlando, Florida. They received a Bronze medal in Pom and placed 4th in Jazz. read more
