Our vision for the department is really quite simple: To advance the safety and success of the university through professionalism, integrity, and collaboration. The success of the university, including student achievement and faculty research, depends greatly on maintaining a safe and secure environment where people feel comfortable, safe, and welcome. UAPD plays an important part in the overall mission of the U of A, and we maintain important partnerships inside and outside of the university. The UAPD has dual accreditation through the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) and the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators (IACLEA). This accreditation means that UAPD has met and continues to meet high standards of professional excellence. The department has 65 state-certified police officers and 49 civilian employees who are here to help and respond to your calls 24 hours a day.
