Unitas and the city council provide a wealth of employment opportunities across all local services, with a firm commitment to employing a growing number of apprentices. Unitas has been designed to offer an improved, more flexible service for tenants, and will ensure that property owned by the city council is maintained to a high standard. We carry out an average of 600 responsive repair jobs a day under a £42m annual budget, with plans to refurbish 1,500 void properties. Unitas employs more than 400 employees - a dedicated workforce of skilled trade operatives, including gas and electrical engineers, joiners, plumbers, plasterers, painters and bricklayers. They are supported by operational team leaders and managers, finance and HR officers, resource controllers, compliance and customer service teams, health and safety specialists, project and site managers, quantity and property surveyors to name but a few, who ensure we provide the most efficient service to our customers. All apprentices are supported by an experienced mentor, to enable maximised learning, development and experience within the role.
