Research is a major departmental activity with 90% of staff rated as world leading or of internationally excellent quality in the 2014 Research Excellence Framework (REF2014) carried out by HEFCE. The Department offers a range of first degree and post-graduate programmes in chemical engineering. These include a four-year MEng degree, which also gives the opportunity for one-year's study abroad in Australia, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, or the USA, a three-year BEng degree, a one-year MSc in Chemical Process Engineering, a one-year MSc in Global Management of Natural Resources and a one-and-a-half-year joint MSc in Sustainable Energy Systems with the University of South Australia (UniSA). We also have a full PhD programme available. All of our undergraduate taught-course programmes and MSc in Chemical Process Engineering are accredited by the Institution of Chemical Engineers. read more
