The UBC Postdoctoral Association is an organization of fellows and research associates of the University of British Columbia. ... We are the voice of our peers and strive to empower postdocs and associates to succeed in their personal, professional, and social development. Mission: To promote, enhance, and facilitate the professional experience at UBC as an important milestone towards being competitive for future goals. Motivation: We accomplish this by advocating on behalf of the postdoc and associate community to all levels of UBC administration, by providing an open forum to communicate and share experiences, by hosting top-tier events that highlight the scholarly work of our peers, and by operating seminars and resources for the next generation of research leaders. UBC PDA also convenes with the Postdoctoral Fellows Office each month, which allows PDA members to discuss concerns and brainstorm ideas to effect positive changes and outcomes. All current postdocs and research associates at UBC are considered to be members of the PDA. Membership on the PDA Executive Committee is on a volunteer basis, and members must express interest and commitment to be included.
