Based in Cologne, Germany since 1979 the company was originally known as Andersson Motorsport GmbH and latterly TOYOTA Motorsport GmbH (TMG), with a long-standing history in motorsport, in rally, endurance and Formula 1. Since 2009 the company has expanded its activities to become a research and development centre for TOYOTA, contributing its cutting-edge facilities and know-how to road car developments. Since 2012, TGR-E has competed in the FIA World Endurance Championship with a hybrid-powered prototype, winning the Le Mans 24 Hours three times as well as six world titles. In parallel to the WEC programme run from Cologne, TGR-E is also home of TOYOTA GAZOO Racing's successful FIA World Rally Championship team operating from its Finland and Estonia branches.
