The family-style group homes are established to encourage as normal a living environment as possible and to provide the least restricted and most independent living arrangement possible. The supported living program responds to the desires and self-expressed needs of each client, and strives to deliver in-home assistance to individuals with IDD, enabling them to live in settings of their choice. History The West Haven Foundation was established in 1972 as an Ohio not-for-profit corporation. In 1981 the organization opened its first group home in Westlake and subsequently over the next thirteen years developed a variety of residential and community based programs and services in support of persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
