Chemical engineers seek to improve the human condition by providing food, fuel, medication and materials that allow people to ... live longer, fuller lives. Chemical engineers fill diverse positions that contribute to the production of fossil and biofuels, as well as the manufacturing and production of insulin and various foods - even candy bars! They perform these jobs while protecting the health and welfare of the global population. Chemical engineering majors in the Department of Chemical Engineering at The University of Toledo are challenged to think creatively. They learn strong technical, entrepreneurial and leadership skills. Our undergraduate curriculum combines math, chemistry, physics and biology with engineering to solve environmental problems, create new sources of fuel, develop solutions to water and food challenges and advance health care initiatives. read more
