The Ohio Nut and Bolt Co., founded in 1905, started as a bicycle chain manufacturer, and then moved into the manufacturing of ... weld screws in 1926. One of their first major weld fastener customers was the Ford Motor Company, who used Ohio weld screws on the frame of the Model A to provide easier assembly of the fenders.
