With over 4,000 nonhuman primates (rhesus and cynomolgus macaques, hamadryas baboons) between two sites in Homestead and LaBelle, FL, our animals are socially housed outdoors year-round in a variety of innovative enclosures. We have veterinary, colony management, animal care, and facility maintenance teams working together to provide the best possible care and welfare. Our mission is to promote education in, and the conservation and domestic breeding of nonhuman primates for use in biomedical, veterinary, and biobehavioral research to improve human and animal health. Breeding animals for these purposes enhances conservation, as it makes trapping animals in the wild an unnecessary practice. Many of our positions require elements of cross-training to ensure excellence in animal care. Working together is crucial, and we have spent considerable time building our team.
