The Green Army was established in 2009 by founding members, Andrew Morgan and Simon King who had a simple mission - to bring ... together a group of colleagues and friends to undertake a cycling challenge and raise money for charity. That year, 12 riders set off to raise money for the British Heart Foundation as they cycled from London to Amsterdam - raising £20,778. Since then, the Green Army has grown into a passionate and diverse, fundraising, cycling community. Every year, the members come together to undertake various cycling challenges to raise money for charities such as; The British Heart Foundation in 2009, Royal British Legion in 2010 and 2011, Demelza Hospice Care for Children in 2012 and 2013, and - more recently; Bloodwise from 2014 to present. Over the years, the team have certainly pushed themselves to the limit as they have supported eachother to undertake a number of mammoth cycling challenges including; London to Paris in 2010, 2011 and 2012; London to Paris to Geneva in 2013; London to Paris to Geneva to Nice in 2014; Venice to Rome in 2015; London to Paris 24 Hour and Carcassonne to Barcelona in 2016; London to Paris and Geneva to Milan in 2017, and latterly; Dunkirk to Paris and Vienna to Prague in 2018. All of this effort, sweat and pain has been worth it as the Green Army are proud to have raised over £500,000 for such good causes - we are also proud to have been awarded the Bloodwise Challenge Team of the Year in 2014, 2015 and 2016 and Award for Outstanding Committment in 2017. In April/May 2018 we will be dusting off an old classic to raise money for our dear friend Nigel who sadly passed away after a long battle with cancer. We will be riding from Venice to Rome over five days to raise money for The Royal Marsden as a tribute to this amazing man. read more
