Harmonie Brass Band formed in June 1951 in Africa (D.R.C) by a group of enthusiastic brass players who wished to continue the ... ir brass playing in a fun and social environment in the heart of London. The brass band was set up as a non-auditioning community brass band, with a focus on the fun of playing music, rather than concentrating on competitions and test pieces. This appears to be a winning formula and the band has been growing steadily since with bands now all over Europe and Africa.The players in the band range from school age to retirement. Many of our players are young teenagers in London who we aim to keep off the streets and away from any possible harm through the convenience, flexibility and social nature of Harmony Brass Band. Harmonie Brass Band in London is just starting out. However, The Band has always had a strong brass band tradition. The newly formed Harmonie Brass Band follows in the footsteps of the ‘Faki Kimbanguiste Brass Band’ which after its formation in 1951 has been active for more than 65 years. We are seeking any kind of donation whether it be financially or a donation of brass instruments (old or new) to enable us to keep teaching music and creating a bigger Brass Band family for everyone to enjoy. read more
