Launched in 2005 the Athena Network has grown into an international community providing business women in all arenas with support, training and advice. The Athena aims are: To create opportunities for members to make strategic connections and accelerate business growth. To inspire success and collaboration by developing members’ business and networking skills. To encourage women in business to inspire and support others to achieve success. Athena members attend monthly lunchtime meetings with their group where they receive training on a broad range of subjects, participate in structured and open networking and hear a presentation from another member about their area of expertise. Members visit other groups (subject to a lock out system), arrange 1-1 in depth meetings and forge enduring, supportive relationships, which is why many of our members have been with their groups since inception. The Athena Network South West Herts & North Middlesex area is run by Regional Director, Debbie Diggle and comprises groups in Bushey, Harrow, Kings Langley, Rickmansworth and Watford (two groups). The groups meet from 12 noon to 2pm on a set day each month at the following locations: Bushey: Hilton Hotel, Watford on the third Tuesday. Harrow: Grims Dyke Hotel, Harrow Weald on the first Thursday. Kings Langley: Shendish Manor Hotel, Apsley on the fourth Tuesday. Rickmansworth: Waterside Bar, Rickmansworth on the third Thursday. Watford Wednesday: Kings Head, Hunton Bridge on the third Wednesday. Watford Thursday: Kings Head, Hunton Bridge on the second Thursday. Cappuccino Connections is a monthly informal coffee event on the second Friday of each month at the Hunton Park Hotel from 10.00 -12.00, where members from all the groups, along with visitors from other areas, meet for open networking.
