The world's first ever African Concert Series was launched in London in 2019 with the purpose of creating a platform for the ... African art music to be performed, the richly diverse genre of music which creates a bridge between Western classical music and African traditional music. The African Concert Series is a platform for the music of hundreds of African composers and it features monthly recitals of Piano Music, African Art Songs and Chamber Music, taking place at the October Gallery and The Africa Centre London. The African Concert Series also fosters education across cultures, it is a place where everyone, adults and children, can learn about the African culture through its music; it is also a place where African communities come together to celebrate their heritage. In 2021, the African Concert Series was given recognition by joining Wigmore Hall's Family of Partners. read more
