TexITE District 9 of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE), is a professional organization of individuals employed ... in the field of transportation or pursuing study therein, who share a common interest in improving the quality of the surface transportation system in Texas. ITE is an international, individual-member educational and scientific association. ITE is one of the largest and fastest-growing multi-modal professional transportation organizations in the world. ITE members are traffic engineers, transportation planners and other professionals who are responsible for meeting society’s needs for safe and efficient surface transportation through planning, designing, implementing, operating and maintaining surface transportation systems worldwide. TexITE has six sections each of which consist of certain Texas counties. The smaller area and shorter travel distance allows for more frequent meetings and participation from a variety of transportation and non-transportation disciplines.
