Sharing Our Passion For Beauty Through Unique Plants, Garden Art and Creative Design for over 15 years. Known for our persona ... l emphasis on the details. Principles Scott Endres, and Dean Engelmann both started as farm boys, growing up on their families’ farms and learning a love and appreciation of plants, animals, and growing things while preserving the land for future generations. What started as an idea when they were just out of horticulture school at the U of M has grown into a business that now consists of: Our Farm. Our Plants. Our Animals. Our Food. 1) 140 Farm Acres of sustainable, responsible, pesticide and chemical free production at our farm in Plato, MN. Over 10,000 sq ft of solar panels provide power to our farm and 80% of our farm waste is either recycled or composted. We plant zero GMO (Genetically Modified Organisms), leave zero farm acres bare and prone to erosion. 2) Tangletown Gardens. We've responsibly grown 2,317,425 plants and trees for yards across our community. Our farm grows, houses, and cares for 99% of the plants that make their way to Tangletown Gardens and into gardens across the Twin Cities. We also offer a CSA (18 weeks of fresh, in-season produce starting mid-May through mid-October) 3) Wise Acre Eatery. The only farm-to-table restaurant in Minnesota that produces 80% - 95% of the food served at our restaurant from our own farm (even in the winter months). To date Tangletown Gardens and Wise Acre Eatery have donated $298,980.17 to art and garden projects. We’ve funded 15 scholarships to the University of Minnesota Department of Horticultural Science. Provided enough fresh, responsibly-grown produce to feed 10,595 families and donated 15,322 pounds of produce to area food shelves last year alone. Our in-kind research donations to the University of Minnesota Department of Horticultural Science exceed $35,000 and the hours spent on independent farm research to pioneer a more sustainable tomorrow for our community are endless. read more
