Summit Health is a not-for-profit organisation operating out of Mount Barker offering a range of health programs and services ... to the Adelaide Hills, Fleurieu Peninsula and Kangaroo Island communities in South Australia. We improve the health of our communities by supporting local General Practices, GPs and their staff, and providing clinical services. The organisation commenced in 1996 as the Adelaide Hills Division of General Practice, with the new name introduced in 2013. Summit Health primarily operates out of the Summit Health Centre in Mount Barker. We offer the following services: general practice (GPcare); an 24 hour emergency medical service at the Mount Barker Hospital (EDcare); mental health services; a chronic disease program delivered on Kangaroo Island (funded by Country SA PHN); management of the Health Provider Registry (funded by SA Health); networking and learning events for our members; live broadcast of heath news every month on Hills FM; and reinvesting into the community through opportunities and fundraising. read more
