Study Association KNUS is the study association of the studies Algemene Cultuurwetenschappen (ACW) and Arts & Culture Studies ... (ACS) at the Radboud University Nijmegen. Since its establishment in 2003 Study Association KNUS provides a wide arrange of formal and informal activities for its members. Think of symposiums, study trips, talks, but also pub lectures, film quizzes and open podiums. KNUS currently has 140 members, of which the most part actively engages in our activities. Especially, the study-related activities are frequently visited by our members. These activities offer a deeper insight into the courses offered in the ACW and ACS programme. Within this programme we deal with all kinds of social issues, which we try to explain through the arts. For example, we organised a symposium in April 2013, which attempted to explain Scandinavia's popularity in the art world. In addition, socio-economic issues, such as male-female relations and cutbacks in the cultural sector, are central to the courses. As a result, students are very involved in historical but especially contemporary developments in the fields of art, politics and society. After studying ACW and ACS, students often end up in the cultural field, but students are also popular in the business world, because of their broad view of developments and problems. ACW and ACS students, and especially the members of our association, are encouraged to approach these developments with an open mind. This means that our association is open to new initiatives, which we want to offer in order to increase their visibility. Study Association KNUS is a continuously growing association, which has a relatively large number of active members, which makes us a thriving and living association! read more
