The company was established in 1988, shortly after the launch of TV3 Scandinavia, MTG:s first TV channel. Strix was then one of the first production companies in the market. The company was in 1997 the first in the world to produce the format Survivor, thus paving ground for the establishment of the reality TV genre around the world.
