STOP OVERDOSE Now is building an innovative, app-based, global Digital Overdose Response Networking infrastructure that will ... bring together the acute demand for assistance with an overdose with the availability of naloxone and trained volunteers in a geographic area in real time, using GPS and other data. The APP The app’s primary function is to alert volunteers when there is an overdose in progress nearby. When someone is overdosing, the app will alert nearby volunteers who rush to the person’s location to provide this life-saving treatment. Volunteers will typically arrive before the ambulance/medics, and those extra minutes are the difference between life and death. The app will include a chat function and provide links to (area-based) harm reduction services and treatment resources, prescription and street drug facts, along with medical and legal information. Data collected from the app will help forecast where overdose services are most needed. All user information will be highly protected and never provided to law enforcement. SONNET In collaboration with our international partners, we are building the Stop Overdose Now Network (SONNET).
