Staffordshire Search and Rescue Team is a voluntary charity made up of members who are trained in the skills to search for mi ... ssing people, provide medical care once they have been found and then rescue them and return them to a safe place. The team works primarily for the Police but can also be 'called out' by the Fire and Ambulance Service. The team is based in Stafford but covers the entire county of Staffordshire and surrounding areas. The teams capabilities include: Water rescue, flood rescue, NSARDA search dogs, rope rescue, bike search, specially trained search managers etc. The volunteers are on call all day, every day of the year. They attend callouts by taking time off work to attend incidents. It costs on average £25,000 to run the team a year and all of this money comes from public and company donations as there is currently no government funding for Lowland Rescue within the UK. read more
