Our venue is unique in concept and design, having initially being built in 1854 as a location for music festivals, which also featured crown and civic courts of various sizes. Today, the Hall is recognised as the emotional heart of Liverpool - a place where people come from near and far to congregate, celebrate and commemorate. Important moments happen here: moments following the deaths of the Beatles John Lennon and George Harrison; the homecomings of Liverpool and Everton football teams after Cup Final victories; the Peoples’ Opening of Liverpool's European Capital of Culture celebrations in 2008, when Ringo Starr played from the roof of the building to over 50,000 people.
