Speedcast Government is NOW UltiSat! In preparation for the upcoming new year, we wanted to take a moment to let you know abo ... ut some exciting changes coming to Speedcast Government. Starting today, we are changing our name and re-launching a revitalized version of the UltiSat brand. The new UltiSat combines the heritage of two proven predecessor companies. In 2017 and 2018, respectively, global telecom company Speedcast International acquired both UltiSat and Globecomm. The government related businesses of each were combined and have operated under the name Speedcast Government over the past year and half, during the integration process. Founded in 2003 in the Washington D.C. area, the first generation of UltiSat focused on managed network services of satellite and terrestrial connectivity, with unique capabilities in the airborne sector. Globecomm was founded in 1996, in the New York area, with a concentration on complex systems integration, technical services, and proprietary wireless solutions. Today, with the integration complete, “UltiSat 2.0” reflects more than just a new logo and website. UltiSat combines the strengths, capabilities, and market reach of the predecessor businesses into a next generation company. The larger unified organization offers a more full-featured communications and networking solutions portfolio that can be tailored to the unique requirements of each customer. While UltiSat, Inc. remains a wholly owned subsidiary of Speedcast International, it is a separate independent proxy company with its own board of directors, governance, financing, facilities, human resources, security, and technologies. This allows UltiSat to focus exclusively on government, humanitarian-aid and critical infrastructure customers, while still benefitting from the buying power and resources of a larger commercial organization. The name change will not impact any customer or partner contracts, as all prior legal entities remain intact. read more
