SII's commitment to R&D is evidenced in the operation of the Southern Ionics Research and Development Center, an 13,000 square foot complex of laboratories near company headquarters in West Point, Mississippi. This top-flight research facility has labs dedicated to basic research in surface science, colloidal science and inorganic chemistry as well as laboratories for applications research in paper, pigment, catalyst, and water treatment technology. Additionally, the research labs have bench scale and pilot plant capabilities to develop and evaluate products to meet emerging customer needs. The Southern Ionics Research and Development Center compliments quality control laboratories at each plant site.
