With twenty years’ experience working with the HSE behind them, Seamus and John had a clear view of the service and environme ... nt they wanted to provide. Together with Gerry Jordan, current Chairman, they formed Sonas Healthcare now known as Sonas. At the core would be passionate, experienced and motivated staff, housed in a purpose-built premises and equipped with the optimum level of facilities. These facilities would be located at the heart of communities, providing residents with continuity between their new home and the one they are leaving behind. The first Sonas Nursing Home opened at Cloverhill, outside Roscommon Town, in February 2001. Since then, Sonas has expanded with each new location planned, designed and built with the same principles at heart. Our Management Their vision was to build facilities around passionate, experienced and motivated staff. By reaching out to the surrounding community, the new facility would maintain continuity for residents, between their new home and the one they have left behind. The first Sonas Nursing Home, at Cloverhill, on the edge of Roscommon Town, opened in February 2001. Initially, Seamus took on the role of manager. Today he is Operations and Development Manager, while John is Nursing Home Co-ordinator. Both are Executive Directors. Our Team At Sonas we believe that our staff are the most important element of our service. We have spared no expense or effort in ensuring that our facilities are built to the highest specification but it is their friendly smiles, their genuine interest in people and their expertise that make a Sonas nursing home a pleasant, safe and comfortable place to live.
