Sitwell Cycling Club

Sports · Rotherham, South Yorkshire
Website: www.sitwell.cc

Rotherham's newest cycle club serving Whiston, Rotherham and the surrounding areas. We have members from Rotherham, Sheffield ... , Doncaster and Barnsley. Founded January 2016 after a bunch of mates decided they'd like to join a club that was for the good times with a little bit of racing too and felt there wasn't one in the vicinity that met their needs. We were beyond delighted to be awarded Club of the Year at the 2018 Rotherham Advertiser Sports Awards for the work we have done to promote cycling and a active lifestyle to the local community. We're a not-for-profit, volunteer run organisation registered to British Cycling - affiliation number: 537309. Primarily a social cycling club, we run six rides every weekend for a range of abilities along with Wednesday night road and mountain bike groups. At now over 100 members strong the word is spreading and we're growing quickly, so come and give us a try - no obligation to join unless you enjoy your ride with us enough to make you want to repeat the experience. Whether you are a beginner, returning competitive cyclist or triathlete looking to improve your cycling performance Sitwell Cycling Club will provide you a warm and friendly welcome, whatever your age (If you're under the age of 16 you'll need to be accompanied by a responsible adult). Membership applications are available on the site as well as a guide to upcoming rides, we look forward to meeting you at the next Sitwell CC event Our aims • To promote cycling to the people of Whiston, Rotherham (and surrounding areas) and to those who cycle in or near our town • To provide an avenue for club members to race and compete by having affiliations to governing bodies (British Cycling, CTT) • To provide a focus for recreational cyclists and promote the sport at grassroots level • To be open to all, and to encourage cycling for everyone read more
