Paul and Louie Cares are prou ... d to carry on the legacy of their father, George, who opened the company's first location. George opened his first store at 114 Sheldon Boulevard--a main thoroughfare for downtown-bound traffic--in Grand Rapids, Michigan. As the city grew, so did we. Within two years, the second Sheldon Cleaners location went up at the corner of Leonard and Monroe, with another on West Fulton following shortly after. Some of Paul and Louie's best memories as kids are helping their dad around the shop, putting hanger guards on wire hangers, and modeling rental tuxedos. They always knew they would grow up to be a part of Sheldon. Today, we are proud to own 25 locations with more than 170 employees and home pick-up & delivery in the Grand Rapids, Holland, and Kalamazoo areas.
