Sheffield University Volleyball Club (SUVC) is a Performance club with 4 teams participating in the Premier League, BUCS, BUC ... S League, Student Cup and the National Cup. We are very proud to be one of the most international and inclusive clubs with members that will definitely be friends of a lifetime. Teams Our incredibly diverse players make up two women's teams and two men's team. Our Women's First and Second team and Men's First team play in BUCS (British University and College Sports) which allows us, as a club to travel all around the UK competing in the sport we love. Last academic year, Women's First Team won BUCS and thus qualified to a higher league in the next academic year 18-19. In addition, they came in 2nd in BUCS League. Women's Second Team in addition, pulled out amazing games with other teams, their potential and their spirit is highly apparent. Men's Second team is still a relatively new team and competes in the Yorkshire league, which enables them to not only fuel their competitive nature, but also promotes and improves them as players, allowing possibilities to move up to the Men's First team. Men's First Team play in the Premier League and last academic year they came in 3rd in the Student Cup Finals making Sheffield proud. We are a very sociable and supportive team, which is most evident during VARSITY - the biggest sport rivalry week, where we compete against our neighboring university, Sheffield Hallam. Recreational Sessions If you are relatively new to the sport or if you just fancy a casual volley with members of the committee and teams, please feel free to come and enjoy our recreational sessions. During these weekly sessions, you'll learn parts of the game, the techniques and overall improve the basic skills around a game of volleyball, but most importantly, it's all about having fun. With recreational sessions, we always look out for new talents as well, allowing the possibility for you to progress potentially into one of our teams.
