Seabreeze Park’s opened on August 5th, 1879 and is one of the oldest operating amusement parks in the United States. The park ... is located between the shores of Lake Ontario and Irondequoit Bay. Seabreeze got its start as the final stop on the on the steam train line that ran from downtown Rochester to the lakefront. Today it is owned and operated by the sixth generation of the Long family. Rob Norris, President and General Manager of Seabreeze has described the park as “A local park with high quality entertainment, well-known rides and fine attractions. We’re accessible and reasonably-priced, so we have multiple visits each year by many of our families. Grandmothers bring their grandchildren here and reminisce about when they visited as grandchildren themselves. They sit in rocking chairs by the carousel and remember doing that as children, rocking, riding the carousel or the Jack Rabbit roller coaster.
