Established in 1862 as the City of Glasgow Friendly Society, we have over 150 years’ worth of experience to offer and have seen a large number of changes, not only the financial services market but indeed technologically. In 1968 we purchased a computer system roughly the size of a small living room, it could store 256 kilobytes of data, which is now roughly the same size as the corner of a photo taken on a phone camera. Of course it is not still in use today. In 1992, following the transfer of business from a Scottish-based friendly society, we adopted the name Scottish Friendly Assurance. Today, Scottish Friendly is still based in Glasgow, and is a dynamic financial services group dedicated to the efficient provision of a wide range of financial products and services.
