The Schils Company was founded in 1925 as feed mill by the family Schils, in the south part of the Netherlands. In 1958, Schils started to manufacture Calf Milk Replacers, based on skim milk powders and whey powder. A new production plant, fully dedicated to manufacture milk replacers, was built in 1980 in the nearby town of Sittard. After the acquisition by the VanDrie Group in 2004, € 10 million were invested in the plant. Today’s facility is the most modern in the world, which excels in efficiency and flexibility. The VanDrie Group is the world’s market leader in production of veal and the manufacturing of milk replacers for young animals. Schils has developed a wide range of products: - Milk replacers for calves; - Milk replacers for lambs and goats; - Milk replacers for piglets; - Semi-finished products based on dairy ingredients, fats and oils, and/or high digestible vegetable proteins and carbohydrates for the compound feed industry; - Protected fats for ruminants, poultry and pigs; - Dairy ingredients and other specialty products for the animal feed industry.
