In 1985 Saeco created the first super automatic espresso machine, so that everybody could brew an authentic Italian espresso in their own homes. In the past 30 years Saeco also introduced many innovations: the team filed over 45 patents in the last 10 years, developed 10-15 projects every year and opened 3 research laboratories, one of which is also VDE-certified. Throughout its history, the addition of important stakeholders such as Philips and, since 2017, N&W Global Vending, allowed Saeco Professional to focus specifically on the out-of-home sector, and to prepare for new challenges and increasingly ambitious goals.
