A celebrated milestone! On Australia Day, 26 January 2001 Melbourne music promoters Michael & Anthea Newton of Roundhouse Entertainment decided to try a brand-new concert experience – contemporary music in a beautiful winery environment. Since then it has grown to become firmly established as one of Australia’s most successful and respected outdoor concert events. A glittering array of International and Australian stars have performed during the past 17 years providing unforgettable musical memories. Robbie Williams, Fleetwood Mac, Alicia Keys, Sting, Paul Simon, Blondie, Cold Chisel, John Farnham & Paul Kelly are just some of the acts that have graced our stages. a day on the green is far more than a concert event, it is a “one day, one stage, boutique festival experience” and that is what sets it apart from other winery concerts. a day on the green has undeniably changed the make-up of the Australian concert arena. The event is known by all international agents and artists worldwide and Roundhouse is hotly pursued by artists keen to play or to request return visits. Rod Stewart, Lionel Ritchie, Elton John, Leonard Cohen, Bryan Adams and The Pretenders are just some of the international acts that have returned for second a day on the green tours. a day on the green runs in the summer months from October – March with around 35 concerts per season in the all major wine-growing regions around Australia.
