We meet weekly in the Cathedral room at the magnificent Adelaide Oval. The usual format is: 12.30pm for fellowship and drinks, lunch from 1.00pm to 2.00pm sharp. Come and hear about our work in the community, listen to great guest speakers or catch up with other members over good food and beverages in one of the world's best locations Our activities include: Community Service This is at the heart of the Rotary ethos of service above self. In the Rotary Club of Adelaide seven (7) Committees make up the Community Service Portfolio, including: Australian Rotary Health Research Fund Community Activities Environmental Improvement Service to Ageing Special Projects and Volunteer Support Youth Service Communities and families that support young people soon reap the benefits. They do so because they are in effect laying foundations for a better future. As Rotarians we take seriously this responsibility by supporting the next generation (young people up to 30 years) and by recognizing that there exists a diversity of needs to be met. International Service As a world-wide organisation, Rotary provides opportunities to support humanitarian projects in other countries, particularly developing countries, as well as providing sponsorship opportunities for a student exchange program. Across the whole of Rotary International, the student exchange program allows around 8,000 youths each year to live and go to school in another country for up to a year. read more
