At 68,000 m² in size, Rosental Mitte is nestled between Badischer Bahnhof station and the trade fair grounds (Messe) in the u ... rban Kleinbasel district. The site – which is largely inaccessible to the public at present – will continue to evolve and open up in the next few years. Rosental Mitte is currently a business hub – an identity it is keen to uphold in future. It offers first-class workplaces for high value-added industries, corporate services and research facilities which require a central location and a pleasant working environment. The canton aims to offer the companies and educational institutions located on the site long-term occupancy options while also creating spaces for new companies and institutions to take up residence. Around 3,500 people currently work at Rosental Mitte, and there is potential for an additional 3,000–5,000 jobs. Despite this, Rosental Mitte is not all about work. The aim is to meet the needs of the local population by making the hub an attractive residential area offering a high quality of life. With potential space for 1,100 to 2,200 residents, Rosental Mitte’s housing options cover a broad range of price segments, ensuring a mix of social backgrounds. Shops, restaurants, cafés and sports and leisure facilities will all stimulate social interaction and revitalise the area.
