Academic Expertise in Vaccine Research Vaccine Research Center is a clinical research unit operating within the Faculty of Me ... dicine and Life Sciences at the University of Tampere. The Center carries out clinical trials of vaccines in co-operation with the pharmaceutical industry. Vaccine Research Center has also it’s own laboratory component dedicated to development of novel and innovative vaccines. The key project is development of a new combination vaccine against norovirus and rotavirus gastroenteritis targeted for young children. Wide Experience, Broad Network Vaccine Research Center has years of experience, it has conducted more than 100 vaccine trials. The Center has a network of 10 vaccine trial clinics in Finland, which makes it possible to carry out extensive national studies and contribute strongly to large multinational trials. All clinics are directly connected to the University of Tampere, and all staff are University employees. Vaccine Research Center is conducted by professor Timo Vesikari. High Quality Research All trials are carried out in accordance with GCP (Good Clinical Practise) and the laws, regulations and EU directives concerning clinical trials of pharmaceuticals. All personnel have been trained to GCP and electronic data transfer. Competent, experienced and dedicated personnel guarantee that the generated data are of highest quality.
