Founded in 2009, River City services have grown to encompass Mental Health Skill-Building Services; Intensive In-Home Counseling; Crisis Stabilization Services; Outpatient Services and group counseling and the Veteran’s Employment Program, a federally funded grant through the Department of Labor. With a staff of approximately 90, River City is well equipped to meet client’s needs. Each River City employee is required to meet certain standards and certifications which include a thorough background check, First Aid, CPR and Crisis Wave (a state approved restraint process). All staff meet educational and state standards for the work they do in the field. All program directors are master level clinicians with many currently under supervision to become licensed clinicians. River City also employees licensed social workers and professional counselors who are responsible for staff supervision, leading groups and providing counseling services. River City is licensed by the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services and has been awarded a triennial license, the gold standard in state awarded mental health licenses. River City was recently ranked 1st in the Healthcare & Biotechnology industry category and 13th overall on the 2014 Inner City 100 list of fastest-growing inner city businesses in the U.S. in Fortune Magazine (see article here). In December 2014, River City became a Certified B Corporation through the nonprofit B Lab.
