Raise is an award-winning initiative which encourages students to celebrate the end of the academic year by making a personal ... ly significant donation to charity. Having been founded in Cambridge in 2018, the movement has raised £160,000 for the Against Malaria Foundation, enough to protect more than 180,000 people from malaria. Beyond this direct impact, Raise aims to change the way students think about giving. By inviting students to engage meaningfully with a personally significant donation in this explicitly celebratory context, Raise inspires students to take this positive approach to charity forwards into their future lives. Having now expanded to several other UK universities (Durham, Glasgow and Oxford), Raise has been recognised with the Diana Award and the Vice-Chancellor of Cambridge's Social Impact Award. read more
