Purdue CubeSats are providing the latest research platforms at Purdue University. Purdue has a long tradition of cutting edge ... research taking place on campus, and state of the art facilities such as Zucrow Labs, the Aerospace Sciences Laboratory, and the Purdue Envision Center, are now being joined by much smaller lab spaces in space. CubeSats are small satellites about the size of a wine bottle that can be manufactured and flown at a fraction of the cost of conventional satellites. The incredible advances in miniaturization that have occurred over the last decade are enabling researchers at Purdue to demonstrate technologies and collect scientific data directly from the space environment. These projects are also providing the next generation of Purdue graduates with invaluable hands on experience in the design, manufacture, integration, and testing of spaceflight hardware.
