The Penn State American Marketing Association was founded on April 1, 1972, and is one of the largest organizations at Penn S ... tate University, as well as the largest professional student organization in the Smeal College of Business. PSMA is an active chapter in the American Marketing Association (AMA), the largest marketing society in the United States with nearly 45,000 members. In the past 6 years, we have been a gold chapter of the American Marketing Association 4 times. We will have 4 exciting divisions this year, all of which are open to members to gain marketing experience in the area that interests them the most. These divisions are consulting, entertainment marketing, sports marketing, and retail. The philanthropy efforts of PSMA are no longer considered a division, and are instead spread throughout the organization where all members are encouraged to participate in efforts toward THON and community outreach. With today's competitive job market, high GPAs are simply not enough. The Pennsylvania American Marketing Association, with nearly 70 leadership opportunities, will give members a competitive advantage and provide them with the real-world experience to set them apart. With real stakeholders, hard deadlines, clients, and a budget of over $60,000, PSMA will be run like a full-scale company and prepare all students for transition to the workplace. Mission: The Penn State American Marketing Association’s mission is to provide its student members with real-world business experience; not just limited to the fundamentals of marketing, but also exploring all professional and rudimentary skills of business. Through personal and professional development, networking, and leadership, PSMA offers its members the vital prerequisites needed for any undergraduate to make a comfortable transition to the workforce. read more
