Prospect Hospice provided dedicated end-of-life care and support for 2,361 patients and 581 family members from Swindon and n ... orth-east Wiltshire in 2020. We provide our care in our inpatient unit at the hospice in Wroughton and in the homes of patients through our community based nurses and Prospect@Home service. We have therapy and family support teams who offer therapy support, a day hospice, group work and one to one carers and bereavement support, as well as dietary welfare advice. We have a nationally-accredited education and training arm that looks to raise the understanding of end-of-life care issues with healthcare professionals and works extensively with care homes across our operating area, offering a wide range of training courses. In recent years we have expanded our education offer, looking to work with other health and social care providers to meet their training needs. Prospect Hospice is a charity and we depend on the local community to bring our care to patients and their families. With just over a quarter of our income coming through statutory sources, the greatest share of the £7.5m it costs to deliver our care and services is raised through activities including our 15 charity shops, fundraising events and challenges, a weekly lottery and many more community-focused activities. We achieve this through a dedicated retail and fundraising team, supported by the skills, experience and generosity of hundreds of volunteers, who collectively help the hospice achieve our goal of reaching more people who need our services.
